Hill Rise House and Guest Cottage
With over 2000 square feet (185 sq.m.) of verandahs, our two houses are designed for out door living. They are positioned to make the best of the panoramic views and the cooling breezes of the Trade Winds.
The spacious rooms and verandahs are furnished with Lloyd Loom, rattan, teak and antique furniture, some of which dates back to the days of Lord Nelson (who was married nearby at Montpelier more than 200 years ago). Fabrics from England Spain and Sri Lanka, Hamadan carpets, Noritake china, decorative antiques and other period accessories add the finishing touches to create a feeling of gracious, yet informal living.
Outside, the semi-circular driveway joins our two entrance gates. The upper gardens surrounding the houses with extensive lawns, are planted with a variety of palms and colourful trees and shrubs. Below, old sugar plantation terraces have been restored providing a haven for wild life including Green Vervet monkeys. The pool and tennis court, both with spectacular views, are landscaped into the hill side.
The Main House
The entrance hall joins the kitchen wing to the main living areas. Wide folding doors separate indoor and outdoor living areas.
Inside, antique furniture includes a 200 year old English bookcase. In a secluded corner, the antique desk provides space for your laptop.

Outside, a huge verandah is open on three sides to make the best of the panoramic views, day and night. The dining area has an oval table seating 8, and the lounge area is furnished with rattan. A flick of a switch will floodlight the garden terraces. There is a fixed barbecue in the garden below.
Side verandahs lead to two comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Each bedroom has a pair of queen-sized beds.
The kitchen, big enough to cater for large parties, is fitted with solid maple furniture, Italian granite work tops and Spanish tiled floor. Gas stove, fridge freezer with ice making, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee machine, toaster etc., and remote control for the backup generator which is installed in the Gate House.
The Guest Cottage
The large master bedroom is furnished with antique furniture with some historic pieces commemorating the life of Nelson. An internal lobby leads to the en suite bathroom and the kitchen. The main verandah enjoys the same wonderful views as the Main House and has space for dining as well as comfortable rattan furniture.
Outside steps lead down to another bedroom (with bathroom) which has double doors opening on to the garden.
Our Private Pool

Pool maintenance twice a week by outside contractor.
Private Tennis Court
The tennis court is landscaped into the hill side at the far south western corner of the property.
For playing in the cool of the evening, we have flood lighting.
The Gate House
